Enter a Growing Profession with Strong Demand
Several factors are contributing to increased demand for Denturists across Canada:
- Adults aged 65+ are Canada's fastest-growing demographic,
creating increased demand for dentures, implant-supported dentures, and ongoing oral healthcare services.
- The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
has expanded access to dental care for millions of Canadians, increasing demand for dental professionals and patient services.
- Only a limited number of colleges in Canada offer Denturism training,
making qualified graduates a valuable resource in the workforce.
- Unlike many dental careers that focus primarily on employment opportunities,
Denturism can provide pathways to both employment and future clinic ownership, allowing graduates to build independent practices.
Graduate Outcomes Begin with Licensure Success
To practice as a Denturist in Ontario, graduates must successfully complete the provincial licensing examinations. Oxford College graduates consistently outperform national averages on both components of the examination:

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are the admission requirements?
To apply to Oxford’s Denturism diploma, applicants must meet Oxford’s healthcare program admission requirements and complete the admissions process with an advisor.
Because Denturism is a clinically intensive program, applicants should be prepared for full-time study over 2.5 years (132 weeks), including online theory and in-person clinical training at Oxford’s Toronto campus.
-
What is the difference between Denturism and Dental Hygiene?
While dental hygienists typically work as employees in dental practices, denturists are trained to assess, design, fabricate, fit, and adjust dentures directly with patients. Many denturists go on to operate their own clinics or private practices, giving them more professional independence and long-term income potential. Oxford’s program also includes business planning training, helping students prepare for practice ownership.
-
How much do denturists earn?
According to Oxford’s verified program data, new denturists can earn approximately $55 per hour, or about $114,400 annually based on full-time practice. Many denturists eventually open private practices, which means long-term income potential can grow based on their own business success.
-
Is the program available online or part-time?
Oxford offers Canada’s only hybrid Denturism delivery model.
- Theory courses are completed online
- Clinical and lab training is completed in person at Oxford’s Toronto campus
